Overview of event.
This trip is a great way to spend some time with your Irish Wolfhound and with others and their dogs. Please consider coming along and join in on the camaraderie of a trip into an area of the Lassen National forest with our best loved four legged companions.
This trip will take us to a secluded valley with three small lakes nestled inside within minutes of walking from camp. The camp is next to the water with a small meadow and gradual slopping shorelines, perfect for Irish Wolfhounds and their humans. We will hike in a distance of 2 miles along a well maintained trail, going at an easy pace for the dogs. The days are for fun stuff from fishing, sight seeing, (lakes, many vista points and all within easy walking distance), resting, playing with dogs, and taking pictures. The fourth day we will have a leisurely breakfast, do last minute fun stuff and then pack-up for the hike out. Again the pace will be easy going.
You do not have to be in top shape for this trip. Both you and your dog should be able to walk for 30 minutes without stopping. A list and help is provided for getting your equipment. You will be providing your own transportation to the staging area.
Everyone going gets to help on all activities and chores. So mark your calendar and come along for a time that many people only dream about (or don’t know what they’re missing).
The cost is $30.00 per person, payable to NCIWC.
