 Directions:HallPark is located behind the Dixon May Fairgrounds in Dixon.East or West bound 1·80, take Hwy 113 South and exit on 1st Street. Drive south on 1st St to E Chestnut St, turn left. Follow E Chestnut St which will end at the park and our event site. Parking is on the right.

What to bring: Shade, water, and a X-pen for your hounds. a chair, some shade or hat for you,  maybe some warm jacket for morning chill, and a Pot Luck dish for lunch.

SCHEDULE (this is a tentative schedule)

 8am –  Day of Match entries, $16.00 each,

will be accepted at the registration table UNTIL 9:30 AM ONLYI

9am –  Grooming class: This isn’t just for show hounds but for all hounds. Learn how to groom your dog for at home and for the show ring.

9:30am – Handling class: This class is for everyone, whether you’re a novice or an experienced handler. You’ll also get some practice time prior to the Match judging.

10:30am – Judging begins and will continue until completed, including Keeper of the Couch and the Costume Contest.

12:30pm – Lunch Pot luck Bring something to add to our lunch

 1:30pm – CGC Testing

2: 30pm – Lure Course  practice will be offered through the courtesy of Terry Burchett. A donation of $1.00 per hound would be appreciated. (Helps to keep the equipment running)

Activities Offered:

 Grooming Class: Learn how to groom your dog for the show ring or just for home life. A good “how to” for all Irish Wolfhounds.

Handling Class: Learn how to present your hound in the show ring, and learn some of the finer points of handling. This class is for everyone, whether you are a novice or an experienced handler. A great way to get some practice prior to the Match judging.

Keeper of the Couch:This class is open to all dogs in attendance, including spayed and neutered hounds, veterans, titleholders, and all other beloved companions. Owners are requested to submit a short paragraph describing their special “Pride and Joy”. This will be read while your hound is being presented in the ring. Please WRITE CLEARLY on the form provided. Please share with us, so we can celebrate with you. $2 per entry.

Lunch:  Lunch is Pot Luck (don’t forget to bring something). Lunch will follow the completion of the Judging of the regular classes, in­cluding Keeper of the Couch.

Lure Practice: Terry Burchett is once again bringing his equipment and expertise to our fun match for the benefit of our hounds and puppies. A donation of $1.00 per hound would be appreciated. (helps keep the equipment running)

CGC (Canine Good Citizen) Test – need to bring dog’s AKC #, Rabies record, brush & dog should be wearing a chain collar or buckle collar with 6’ lead.  Chuck will have a form for you to fill out.  This is now a printable title.

Special Classes:  Head (dog & bitch), Type, Gait, Hindquarter
